Brief: Runners' Cruise Will Dock in St. Thomas Friday

Feb. 9, 2007 — The Run in the Sun Cruise, the first ever running-themed Caribbean cruise, will make landfall on St. Thomas Friday, according to a news release from Project St. Croix.
The 200 runners will sail on the Crown Princess, depart the ship at the new Crown Bay facility and then compete in the Paradise 10K run along Veterans Drive to Mandela Circle and back. "The 6.2-mile course is flat and scenic, and will provide the runners with a beautiful introduction to the Virgin Islands," the news release said.
The week-long cruise departs from San Juan, P.R., on Feb. 10, and will have races and training runs on Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua and St. Martin before the V.I. visit. Guest speakers and seminars will be held on board to further enhance the running experience, the news release said
The Paradise 10K will start at 10 a.m. Local runners are invited to participate with no entry fee, as a thank you to the support offered by STAR, St. Thomas' running club, the news release said.
