May 19, 2006 – The Major Crimes Unit of the Virgin Islands Police Department has arrested a 21-year-old resident of the Oswald Harris Court Housing Community, for his alleged involvement in the November 2004 homicide of Ashsha Isaac.
Ahjahra Francis was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Francis is alleged to have fatally shot Isaac on Nov. 2, 2004, while Isaac was walking in the vicinity of Building 5 of Oswald Harris Court. Isaac was shot five times in the head and face.
According to Sergeant Robelto Lima, detective supervisor of the Major Crimes Unit, the arrest is the result of active community involvement.
"Information provided by a witness along with thorough investigative work by the Major Crimes and Forensics Units enabled the department to make this arrest," Lima said, in a release from the VIPD.
The warrant for the arrest of Francis was signed by Superior Court Judge Brenda Hollar. Bail was set at $250,000.
