CCT Tells Jesus of Nazareth Story

Jan. 22, 2006 — Caribbean Community Theatre is offering church groups a 20 percent discount on tickets to its upcoming production, "Jesus Christ Superstar."
The Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice rock opera, which opens Feb.3, will run for three weeks on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 4: p.m. on Feb. 12. Church groups who buy a block of at least 20 tickets in advance will pay $12 each, rather than the door price of $15 per ticket.
A limited number of tickets are being set aside for this program and are available only for the five performances on the first two weekends. These tickets will be sold to church groups on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interested groups should contact Jeanne Johnston at 712-2144 or jeanne@cct.vi for further information or to purchase tickets. Jesus Christ Superstar tells the story of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, and stars David James as Jesus, Lionel Downer as Judas Iscariot, and Natalie Hollins as Mary Magdalene. The musical is best known for the title song, as well as the ballad, "I Don't Know How to Love Him." The production is directed by Lorraine Durand.
Jesus Christ Superstar will be performed at the Caribbean Community Theatre at #18 Estate Orange Grove in Christiansted, St. Croix. There is no reserved seating for tickets purchased in advance. The doors open 45 minutes before curtain time.
