Oct. 17, 2005 — The St. Thomas – St. John Chamber of Commerce business expo – Expo 2005 — will be held this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday Oct. 21, 22, and 23 at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.
"This consumer trade show affords businesses the opportunity to showcase their business–big or small, " Joe Aubain, chamber executive director, said, in a release from the chamber.
The Chamber Business Expo is the largest networking opportunity in the Virgin Islands, according to Aubain.
A large range of products and services will be showcased at the event including: cellular, long distance and wireless communication systems, office equipment and supplies, business and home financing opportunities, banking, insurance services, automobile, trucks, pleasure crafts, transportation services, security services, computer technology, marketing and advertising services, made in the Virgin Islands products, home and office furnishings, wholesalers, architectural and engineering services, specialty items and services.
The three-day event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Friday with a special chamber Business After Hours sponsored by The West Indian Co. Ltd. Other Expo sponsors include: welcome bag sponsor First Bank Virgin Islands; reception sponsor Communications Technology Inc., and Gold Sponsors: Ackley Communications, Caribbean Business News and Guardian Insurance.
Along with the opportunity to pursue the more than 40 displays, this year's event also includes several seminars and workshops, all to be held on Saturday.
STAR Consulting Services, LLC will present five workshops throughout the day on Saturday. Microsoft Office 2003 with Share Point; CRM; Excel; Financial & Retail Management Systems; and LAN Management.
Dr. Tom Tyne will present: "Powerful Problem Solving and Decision Making," and Dr. Valerie George will present: "Time Used, Time Wasted, Time Saved, " a three-and-a-half hour time management workshop aimed at providing participants with tips for saving time in the work place.

"The businesses participating in Expo 2005 represent a wide cross-section of the Chamber membership," Aubain said. adding the first 1000 adults attending the expo will receive a complimentary copy of Caribbean Business newspaper in their welcome bag.
Saturday's expo will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sunday the show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
