CES to Offer Workshop on Diabetes

The University of the Virgin Islands Cooperative Extension Service 4-H/Family and Consumer Sciences Program is offering a free workshop on diabetes. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 from 10 a.m. to noon in the UVI Research and Extension Center, room 133 on the St. Croix campus.
June 1,2005 – Participants will be educated in how much of the local starchy foods can be eaten by a diabetic, how to count carbohydrates, how to determine serving sizes, and how to read nutrition food labels. There will also be food demonstrations, food tasting and recipes available.
