May 11, 2005 — Gerald Cuthbert Roberts, also known as "Daddy Rice" and "Old Dog" died on Saturday, April 30 in Fla. He was 26 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Gloria Payne; second mother, Valrica Bryson; father, Fitz Gerald Roberts; grandparents, Gwendolyn and James Payne, Daisy Nurse Carrington and Lassington Roberts; godparents, Jean Farrell and Franklin Thomas; sisters, Amelia and Delia Roberts and Dawn Hughes; niece, Okoye Hughes; nephews, Okari and Okai Hughes, Tevin Flanigan, Keori Watkins and Donald Robles; great-aunts, Octavia and Mona Greene, Cora Edwards, Beatrice Mitchell, Ionie Appleton, Francella Nurse, Ruth Nathanial and Cynthia Nurse; uncles, Patmore and Juno Roberts, Dale Carrington, Delbert, Worrell and Fitzroy Henderson, Denley and Lauren Payne; aunts, Ellen May, Joyce Merrick, Jaqueline Roberts, Valerie Roberts, Elda Greene, Katie, Claudia and Renee Payne, Emerald Lake and Eglantine Romney; great-uncles, Winston Nurse and Charles Greene; cousins, Denise, Orden, Karen, Christopher, Joseph, Kenisha, Tamara, Debbie, Leoando, Alphonso, Nancy, Conrad, Michael, Tanagna, Marissa and Tamara; brother-in-law, Leon Hughes; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
He is preceded in death by great-uncle Charles Nurse.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, with the viewing beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
