2 Days of Play Washed Out, but Suns and Mets Prevailed Sunday in Elmo Plaskett Little League Play

April 24, 2005 — In the Elmo Plaskett Senior League Sunday the Suns edged the Vikings 6-5. The winning pitcher was Jose Alicea. Timothy Snead suffered the loss. The top hitter for the Suns was Michael Flemming who was 3-for-3, driving in 2 runs. Alicea (2-3) helped his cause with two hits. The Suns were led by Snead (2-3) and L. Farrington (1-2).
In the Elmo Plaskett Little League East Friday the torrential rains washed out the two scheduled games. The rains from Friday made the field unplayable Saturday. So the three games were canceled.
There was one game played Sunday. In the 7-8 year-old division, the Mets led the whole game and went on to top the Suns 13-10. Evanston Matthews Jr. (3-3, HR, 4 RBI) and Tony Graci (2-3, HR, 5 RBI) combined for five hits, two homeruns and drove in nine of the Mets runs. The Suns were led by Devante Bailey (2-3, HR, 2 RBI) and D’John Hardy (3-3, 4 RBI).
There are no games scheduled in the EPLL East this coming weekend. The league takes a break for the Virgin Islands Carnival. EPLL East will resume action Friday, May 6.
