Tennis Association Sets Youth Tournaments

March 11, 2005 – The Virgin Islands Tennis Association second tournament in the VITA/Innovative Junior Tennis Circuit will be held at the Tennis Club of St. Croix from March 18 to March 20.
The categories are both boys and girls for 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under and 18 and under. To sign up contact Don Lawrence at 773-2126 (day), 778-1749 (Home) or 771-1740 (Cell) or email name and age group to flogie@yahoo.com.
VITA has put together a junior tournament circuit that will be used for ranking and selection of junior players for the summer International Tennis Federation circuit. The circuit will end with a championship in May, co-sponsored by Innovative and Antillean Engineers of St. Croix.
In order for junior players to be eligible for selection for the summer ITF circuit, they must play in at least two tournaments, one on St. Thomas and one on St. Croix, and participate in the junior championships in May.
A schedule of the remaining junior tournaments through May is: Apr. 15-17, Jr. Age Groups, St.Thomas, YC; May 6-8, Jr. Age Groups, Canegata-St.Croix/Innovative; May 20-22, Jr. Championship, (By Invitation TBD/Innovative/Antillean.
