Dear Source,
I thought long and hard if I should respond. Unfortunately this situation is in the media several times a week for the last 2 weeks. I am very concerned about it. The sincere, professional and confidential care given at this facility is in jeopardy. Employees have to hold their heads high, keep the level of care high. Everybody sits on a silver platter, questions are being asked by patients who visit this facility and need medical attention. It seem like the public is waiting to see if this facility is going to fall apart after the administrator's departure, I can guarantee you – that is not going to happen. The facility did not fall apart prior to Ms. McDonald's arrival and will not after her departure. One person cannot due it alone. All employees are dedicated to provide the best health care for the St. John community and visitor's alike. At the meeting with Mr. Miller after Ms. McDonald's departure all employees in unity expressed concerns and demanded from RLS administration full support in all areas. That was guaranteed. She was an unclassified employee and the unfortunate can happen. It can happen to any of us. Mark my word I speak from experience. Nevertheless, we all have put this behind us and move forward. Newspaper articles like this and others do not help – they hinder. The facility lost many employees during Ms. McDonald's reign for various reasons. I guess that was not breaking news even one critical position could not be filled to this date. Let's hope and pray that all employees keep up the good spirit and excellent work even under very difficult conditions due to staff shortage not shortage of supplies.
