St. Croix Has New Deputy Fire Chief

November 11, 2004 – Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has approved the appointment of Marcellino Ventura Sr. to the position of deputy fire chief of operations for St. Croix. The position became vacant after Olvardo Graham, former deputy fire chief, was appointed to the position of district fire chief several months ago.
According to a release from Government House, Ventura has 20 years of experience with V.I. Fire Services. In announcing the appointment, Fire Services Director Merwin Potter said Ventura showcased his leadership skills, dedication and abilities in recent years by assisting in moving the agency in the right direction.
