Sept. 30, 2004 Although Bay Street, the road that runs along Cruz Bay Harbor from Wharfside Village to Gallows Point Resort, has always been a no-parking zone, Deputy Police Chief Angelo Hill announced Wednesday that the Police Department will begin enforcing that regulation on Friday.
Hill said in a press release that vehicles may be towed. He said the Public Works Department will put up signs designating the area a tow-away zone.
He could not be reached for comment.
Vehicles parked along Bay Street often reduce the road width to one lane.
While safety appears to be the concern, this new prohibition will compound Cruz Bay's already difficult parking problem because the dozen or so vehicles that parked along the street will have to find somewhere else to go.
