Back Street Culvert, Road to Solberg to Be Repaired

June 29, 2004 – Back Street will be closed at the intersection of Store Tvaer Gade by Virgilio's restaurant on Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m so that a Public Works Department crew can repair a broken culvert, according to a Government House release issued Tuesday.
Meantime, Public Works crews are raising manholes on the road leading from Western Cemetery through Anna's Fancy and up into Solberg as a preliminary step to repaving.
"The road was badly damaged in last November's heavy rains," the release stated, and is being repaired as part of a program sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the disaster declaration issued by President Bush. "An announcement will be made when the actual paving begins," it said.
