June 22, 2004 – The V. I. Water and Power Authority is accepting applications for connection to the water distribution system being installed in the Valley and New Tutu areas. The Authority plans to begin supplying potable water there by November.
Valley and New Tutu area residents who want to receive potable water should apply at the Authoritys Customer Services Office at No. 18 Sub Base. The office is open Mondays through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Applicants are advised not to install the plumbing for the water service until the Authoritys personnel have visited the customer and identified the location of the service connection.
The $1,655,000 Valley-New Tutu Water System project is Phase 1A of the project to extend water service to the Smith Bay areas including the St. John Flexible Waterline Project. It is funded in part by a V. I. government grant of $1 million.
