Botany Bay is Focus of Sunday Hike

June 12, 2004 – The Environmental Association of St. Thomas/St. John is hosting a Botany Bay Tour, Sunday, June 20.
A press release from the Associations said, "Join EAST to get a rare look at the unspoiled beauty and historical significance of Botany Bay Estate. Botany Bay Estate is one of the last pristine parcels of coastal habitat on the island of St. Thomas. Join the Environmental Association of St. Thomas—St. John for a hike/drive to Botany Bay, Sandy Bay, Mermaid's Chair and Little St. Thomas."
The tour guide will be David Brewer, senior territorial archaeologist of the Virgin Islands State Historic Preservation Office. The cost for EAST members is $8 and non-members $10.
Reservations are required for attendance. Space is available for the first 30 callers.
Call 774-1837 for instructions and to reserve a spot. Leave a message with your contact information. Participants should evaluate their own fitness level before taking part. All participants should bring water, and snacks.
