Women's Coalition Gets Gift from Senate Employees

May 28, 2004 – The Women's Coalition of St. Croix was the beneficiary of a donation on Wednesday, May 26, from the Legislature's Employees Club on the island.
A baby crib and clothing for children, women and men were presented to Mary Mingus, Women's Coalition co-director. Among those making the presentation was James McNamara, the 25th Legislature's assistant executive director.
Mingus said the items were especially appreciated because they came "at a time when we were in the process of assisting a family who is in need."
McNamara said the donated items had been collected over several months from Senate and central staff personnel at the Legislature.
The donation was the fourth made by the employees' group. The first was to the Frederiksted Economic Development Assocation. Last Christmas season, items from a "wish list" were presented to the Queen Louise Home for Children. And in March clothing items were given to Catholic Charities of the Virgin Islands.
