Veterans Set Ceremonies for Memorial Day

May 26, 2004 – The Office of Veterans Affairs, in conjunction with American Legion Patrick U. George Post 90, will host a Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 31, at 9 a.m. in Roosevelt Park on St. Thomas. After the program, a seaside memorial will take place at the Coast Guard Dock at 10:30 a.m., followed by a procession down Main Street to Western Cemetery 1 for a Flag Raising ceremony,
"We take this opportunity to invite the press and the entire community to join us as we pay homage to our deceased veterans who served our great nation defending liberty, justice and freedom, so that we may enjoy these ideals of our Democratic way of life," Justin Harrigan, director of the Office of Veteran Affairs, said in a press release Wednesday.
