FEELING GOOD ABOUT ST. CROIX

Dear Source,
It did my heart so proud to see the article on Least terns on St. Croix and, in particular, to see Hovensa has taken on the role of protecting this species.
San Diego also plays a vital role in the preservation of Least Terns and their nesting sites. The birds have created a bond between my two homes that I didn't realize I had. I remember when the land that is now Hovensa was sold, and how distraught I felt for the lost of habitat for migratory birds, even as a young man, growing up in St. Croix.
Crucians are so blessed to have St. Croix situated where it is geographically. We get so many migratory birds and sea creatures that make St. Croix their home for parts of the year. The diverse flora and fauna make for an ecotourism friendly environment and one for all Crucians to enjoy and appreciate.
