BOHLKE AND DUSICH BREAK RUN RECORDS

April 25, 2004 – The 22nd Virgin Islands Pace Runners "Run To Your Library" 5K drew a small field of runners on Saturday, April 24, but that did not stop two records from being broken.
Billy Bohlke, the top-male, distance runner in the Virgin Islands, took the lead from the start in a four-loop course through Christiansted.
He went on to set a record for the race with a time of 15:34. The previous record was 15:54 set by George Jules in 1997.
Kent Bradbury, a top runner in the Virgin Islands for years, made the race his last. He is moving to New Mexico. His time was 19:19; Errol Chichester was third in 23:01; Kamal Russell was fourth in 23:25; Alan Bronstein, a founding member of the FRIENDS of the Florence Williams Public Libarary, was fifth in 33:59.
Letitia Dusich, the second-place finisher overall and first-place female, set a race record for women with a time of 19:19; Theresa Harper, just five days after completing the Boston Marathon, finished second in 20:43; Terry Chretien was third in 28:19; Angela Bradbury was fourth in 30:07; Nellie O’Reilly was fifth in 33:16.
