WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM COMPETES IN BELGIUM

March, 27, 2004 — The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation announced today that the first women’s V.I. National Cross-Country Team competed in the 32nd World Cross-Country Championships in Brussels, Belgium, this past weekend.
The team of: Ragina Rendazza, Lisah Hamilton, Ruth Ann David and Rachel Witty became the first V.I. National Team to complete the Long Race 8-kilometer course at Parc de Laehen on a cold and rainy day. Rendazza was the first finisher for the V.I. with a time of 33 minutes and 49 seconds, followed by Lisah Hamilton in 35:42, Ruth Ann David in 38:12, and Rachel Witty in 38:24.
Billy Bohlke was the lone male V.I. competitor in the Long Race of 12 kilometers. He finished in 43:16.
