'12 DAYS OF ENTERTAINMENT' ON ST. CROIX IN MARCH

March 17, 2004 – A "Dozen Days of Arts Entertainment" got under way on Wednesday on St. Croix, a cooperative venture of two not-for-profit entities, St. Croix Center Stage and the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts.
The performing and visual arts festival includes workshops for young people, a student art exhibit, a "Broadway Brunch" and two performances each of a one-man show starring Jim Jarrett about the life of artist Vincent Van Gogh, and of a revue starring Tony Award-winning singer Lillias White.
Both Jarrett and White have performed previously on St. Croix in events presented by St. Croix Center Stage.
The organization, founded by Madeline McCray, brought Jarrett to St. Croix last January to perform the two-act play written by Leonard Nimoy as a fund-raiser. The one-night performance took place on the stage of the James C. Savage Theater at Good Hope School. (See "'Vincent' one-man show is Friday at Good Hope".)
White starred in an earlier musical revue on St. Croix in July 2002 in what was billed as the 2nd annual U.S. Virgin Islands Performing Arts Festival, presented by St. Croix Center Stage. (See "Arts fest to showcase Glover, White, V.I. teens".)
