GLEN FRANCIS NAMED ACTING DISTRICT FIRE CHIEF

Feb. 26, 2004 – Fire Marshal Glen A. Francis, a 23-year veteran of the V.I Fire Service, has been appointed acting fire chief for the St. Thomas-St. John district.
Francis, who joined the V.I. Fire Service in 1981, advanced from corporal to sergeant to inspector to marshal, a position he has held for nearly five years, according to a Government House release issued on Thursday.
Gov. Charles W. Turnbull made the appointment effective Feb. 23.
The previous fire chief for the district was Merwin Potter.
