Jan. 21, 2004 -The Roy Lester Schneider Hospital/Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center would like to thank its many sponsors of its first Beach Celebration on Martin Luther King Day.
More than 400 hospital employees came out to Magen's Bay on Jan. 19 to honor Martin Luther King Day and celebrate the hospital's recent accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Over 25 private businesses helped donate nearly $1,200 in prizes for activities at the JCAHO Accreditation Beach Picnic.
Some of the top donors included Sanrio, Boutique Rendezvous, Atlantis Submarine, The Cutting Edge, Royal Caribbean, and Modern Music. Other businesses that donated prizes were Scandinavian Center, Southern Exposure, Delly Deck, Quick Pics, Majestic Jewelers, Modern Music, Dockside Bookshop, Draughting Shaft, Screaming Eagle, Outrigger Boutique, Urban Threads, Gourmet Gallery, St. Thomas Communications, Radio Shack, and Tickles.
"We want to thank all these businesses for helping support our community hospital," said Rodney E. Miller, President and CEO of the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. "We also express appreciation to our planning committee for organizing the many activities and soliciting prizes to make this a successful and fun event for all our staff," he said.
