ST. JOHN LANDOWNER APPLAUDS TOWN COUNCIL IDEA

Dear Source,
(Copied from a letter to Gov. Charles W. Turnbull)
As a long-time property owner on St. John, I was very interested to hear about the town council initiative now being considered. I can only say that this concept is the best thing I have heard about in my more than 25 years of land ownership here in the beautiful U.S.V.I.
I have been reading with great interest the dialogue which has now begun, and I want to commend you and your supporters for having the courage to undertake so bold an initiative. In a participatory democracy such as ours, the critical importance of town meetings and town councils cannot be overstated, and I look forward to following your progress in this regard.
As I am now considering making the Virgin Islands my permanent residence, I have been greatly encouraged to hear that this concept is now under serious consideration. The letters to the editor and dialogue now begun have been most enlightening, and I look forward to lending my support in any way I can. Again, thank you for your courage and vision.
John H. Panzer
St. John
