CHRISTENSEN TO ADDRESS LWV ON CFO ISSUES

Jan. 6, 2004 — Delegate Donna M. Christensen will address a luncheon meeting of the League of Women Voters of the Virgin Islands later this month Christensen will discuss her bill before Congress that seeks to establish a chief financial office and officer for the territory. Christensen has been both lauded and attacked for her move to have the Organic Act changed to not only create a position of chief financial officer but also to institute an integrated financial management system to keep track of the territory's fiscal affairs. The League invites members, guests and the general public to attend the lunchtime forum, which will include a question and answer period.
The event begins at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19 at L’Escargot Garden Restaurant in Subbase. Lunch is $20.
