SEABORNE CHOSEN BY SANTA FOR DEC. 25 GIFT RUN

Dec. 16, 2003 – Seaborne Airlines has announced that it has been chosen as the official airline used by Santa Clause this Christmas Eve as he travels through the territory, distributing presents and collecting cookies and milk.
Seaborne received the North Pole nod earlier today when Rudolph "Red Nose"Reindeer, spokesreinperson for Clause, said in a radio announcement broadcast locally on KISS 101.3 FM and Channel 2, that the jolly old elf had decided to use Seaborne as he hops between St. Croix, and St. Thomas.
A beaming Rudolph, addressing the crowd at the annual pre-Christmas meeting of the North Pole Tourism Authority, said,"Santa simply prefers the convenience of flying Seaborne, where he can go port to port with out the airport. And," a grateful Rudolph added,"It's going to take a lot of the pressure off me and the guys, as we were expecting an unusually heavy load of presents for the extra-good children of the Virgin Islands this year. Being able to relax for a few moments on a Seaborne flight and play some reindeer games is just what we'll need at that point along the route."
As part of the deal Clause cut with Seaborne for the use of their aircraft on Dec. 25, he will be visiting Seaborne's seaplane bases in advance of his Christmas run, giving out candy and listening to the last-minute wishes of the V.I.'s children, both big and small.
On St. Croix Chris Cringle will be appearing from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19; on St.Thomas, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20.
Marketing and sales manager for Seaborne, Jonathan Distad, was thrilled by the news, saying that even though Seaborne Airlines has made donating to youth-oriented activities a company goal throughout the year, it's still a pleasure to be chosen by Santa for his trip through the Virgin Islands.
It is not clear at this point how Clause plans to get toys to Water Islands and St. John, though the popular presumption among elves the Source has contacted, and who've agreed to speak on condition of anonymity, is that Clause will simply use his sleigh and reindeer.
