KIM OF SISTER SLEDGE TO SING AT MINISTRIES' EVENT

Dec. 9, 2003 — One of the members of the famous sister singing group Sister Sledge, who sang the hit "We Are Family," is returning for the second year to provide a concert that will make an "impact" in the lives of children.
Kim Sledge will be the featured guest for the second annual Impacting Your World Christmas Celebration at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at the Holiday
Inn Windward Passage conference room.
Several groups have come together for the event to make Christmas wishes come true for V.I. children with gifts, music, and lots of love. The Lions Club has partnered with Impacting Your World Christian Ministries to give gifts to children of incarcerated parents and other disadvantaged children.
Pastors Gerald and Sharon McDonald of Impacting Your World Christian Ministries previously hosted several gift-giving parties for children in need in Philadelphia before they came to St. Thomas to form a church.
"We look forward to continuing to impact the lives of children," said Gerald McDonald. "It is our prayer that the lives of children who are less fortunate be positively affected as a result of receiving gifts." Gifts will be specifically targeted to children of incarcerated parents, as well as children from Bethlehem House and Kidscope. Persons, who are interested in giving gifts during the celebration should wrap their gifts and put a label on them designating whether the gift is for a boy or girl and the appropriate age range.
The Impacting Your World Christmas Celebration is being co-sponsored by Knight Quality Stations and will also feature Minister Sharon Amy, Gloria Gumbs and many holiday music selections. For further information, please call 715-2482.
