It's time for the second annual St. Thomas/St. John Pathfinders Kayak-A-Thon, and organizers are seeking donations.
Youngsters from ages 10 to 15 will kayak round-trip across Pillsbury Sound from St. Thomas to St. John and return. For those who want to watch the action, kayakers will leave Sapphire Beach, St. Thomas, about 8:30 a.m., rest up awhile in Cruz Bay, and then return.
They will be in two-man kayaks, and will travel single-file in groups of six accompanied by a leader, said Royden Fleming, area coordinator. St. Thomas Rescue and personnel from V.I. Planning and Natural Resources Department will be at the scene as well.
