VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HISTORIC SITE CLEAN-UP

Oct. 6, 2003 – St. Croix Farmers in Action are inviting all St. Croix residents to join with them this Saturday as they kick off their third year of clean-up work at the historic Bethlehem Sugar Factory site.
Volunteers will meet at the Estate Bethlehem site at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, and spend the hours until noon reclaiming this historic treasure from the bush. The FIA plan eventually to make the site available to visitors and the public as an interpreted historical site, according to a release from that organization.
Right now, though, it's all about clearing the land and cleaning up the property.
Those interested in helping out are asked to pack their own lunch and bring work-gloves, machetes, and chainsaw's, FIA will supply the water and drinks, and also tools for volunteers who don't bring their own.
For further information contact Kelly at 778-4266, Percival at 772-5907, or Kendall at 771-0615.
