V.I.-P.R. DAYS TO BE CELEBRATED IN FREDERIKSTED

Oct 8, 2003 — Following right on the heels of Frederiksted's celebration of historic Fireburn, St. Croix is planning the 39th anniversary of Virgin Islands-Puerto Rico Friendship for Oct. 10-13 at the Frederiksted ballpark.
The village will be named in tribute to former V.I. Gov. Juan Francisco Luis. The celebration will recognize the contributions that the people of Puerto Rican descend have made to the growth development of the United States Virgin Islands and the relationship that has been developed between the territory and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, according to a release.
This year's theme is "Revisiting Virgin Islands-Puerto Rico Friendship Day "Como Eta Antes." The focus will be on cultural events and entertainment will be provided by Puerto Rican and Virgin Island musicians and performers. Food and beverages will be on sale.
For more information contact St. Croix administrator Gregory Francis at 773-1404.
