Sept. 24, 2003 – St. John resident Jose Penn has been nominated by Gov. Charles W. Turnbull to a three-year term on the Economic Development Authority governing board. The nomination requires Senate approval.
Penn is the chief financial officer for Penn's Corporation, which owns apartments and operates a Jeep rental and trucking company on St. John. He previously held financial positions with the Housing Authority and the V.I. Urban Renewal Board.
He currently serves on the St. Thomas/St. John Horse Racing Commission, the Board of Land Use Appeals, the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center board, the Vitran St. John advisory committee, the Friends of the V.I. National Park board, and the University of the Virgin Islands Business Administration Advisory Board.
Additionally, he is a member of the St. Thomas/St. John Chamber of Commerce and the Julius E. Sprauve School PTA.
