COMMENTS ON CERTIFICATION PLAN DUE BY MAY 23

May 12, 2003 – The public may submit comments in writing to the Board of Education regarding its draft Professional Staff Certification Regulation until May 23.
The board conducted hearings on St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John last week to receive comments on the certification plan that is necessary to comply with the mandates of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. See "Will V.I. lose teachers with certification?")
To access the document online, go to the University of the Virgin Islands Info Tech Web site. Printed copies are available for viewing at the territory's four public libraries, the two UVI libraries and the Education Department curriculum centers on St. Thomas and St. Croix.
