May 10, 2003 The deadline to apply for volunteer computer trainers under the V.I. Training Initiative program has been extended to May 30. Applicants must be full-time government employees proficient in the Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
Division of Personnel Director Joanne U. Barry said VITI trainers receive extensive preparation in the training program before conducting classes for other government employees. "Trainers may also receive CEU credits for many of the Train-the-Trainer courses," she said.
Interested persons are asked to complete the VITI Trainer application and provide a current resume and letter of nomination/recommendation from their department or agency heads or supervisors. For more information or an application, stop by the Division of Personnel's offices on St. Thomas or the GERS Complex on St. Croix in the Orange Grove Shopping Center, or call training specialist Dianne Bynoe at 774-8588 ext. 5129.
