'EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE, EXCEPTIONAL WORK'

April 30, 2003 — V.I. medical laboratory professionals on St. Croix celebrated National Medical Laboratory Week April 20 to 26, 2003.
V.I. lab professionals joined the approximately 265,000 lab professionals and 15,000 board-certified pathologists across the United States in celebrating the week's theme: "Laboratory Professionals: Exceptional People, Exceptional Work."
The national week recognizes the vital role these professionals play in every aspect of health care, said a release, as they perform and interpret medical laboratory tests.
The NML Week celebration at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital, Dr, James S. Glenn Clinical Laboratory, and Pathology Department ended with a closing breakfast Friday, April 25, attended by all laboratory staff. Saltfish, johnnycake and bush tea were served. Thursday, a pizza day, sponsored by Dr. William Fogarty, Laboratory Director and Dr. James Kasin, Laboratory Pathologist, was held.
The NMLW committee would like to thank all the people who help in making the celebration a success.
