April 4, 2003 Registration for the 2003 Clean and Preen summer program has opened, and eligible students have until May 31 to get their applications in to the St. Thomas-St. John Anti-Litter and Beautification Commission office.
In the Clean and Preen youth employment program, to be operated June 23 to Aug. 1, students clean the island and participate in educational field trips. They are paid $5.50 an hour for the time worked.
To be eligible for the program, students must be 14 by May 30, attending school and without history of anti-social behavior. Students attending summer school are not eligible.
Applications are available at the Anti-Litter and Beautification Commission's office at 6200 Estate Frydenhoj, Suite 1, East End Boat Yard. For more information, call 777-3073.
