ASSIGN NATIONAL GUARD TO REMOVE DERELICT CARS

Dear Source,
As a frequent interested visitor to St. Thomas, I am aware of its numerous problems. The resolution of many of them are either elusive or expensive. However, there is one problem, which may not be the most pressing, that can be cured with a minimum expense.
I am referring to apparently abandoned vehicles at the sides of the roads. The shore road between Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie, especially the portion close to Red Hook, is littered with abandoned vehicles. These are an eyesore and create an unfavorable image for visitors.
The Virgin Islands National Guard is under the governor's command. Once it has been determined that the vehicles are abandoned and are on public property, the governor should be able to direct the National Guard, while its members are on duty and are being paid, to remove these vehicles. Presumably the National Guard has the necessary equipment.
