SIEFERT JOINS DIVI

March 23, 2001 — Robert Seifert, a longtime leader in the hotel industry on St. Thomas, recently became general manager of St. Croix's Divi Carina Bay Resort.
Siefert formerly was general manager at the Renaissance Grand Beach Resort and worked there for 16 years.
He was president of the St. Thomas-St. John Hotel Association and a member of the board of directors for the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Governor's Economic Development and Planning Board.
He left the private sector briefly in the late '90s for a stint in Tourism in Gov. Roy Schneider's administration. He headed efforts to increase the number of airline seats available into the territory.
Reached at Divi, Siefert said he is excited about his new position.
