Frames of Mind Gallery will host a meet-the-artist reception on Friday, Feb. 9, to open painter Aphrodite's first solo show in Love City.
A winter season resident of St. Thomas, Aphrodite will be exhibiting oil and watercolor paintings and prints of St. John scenes and other Caribbean images.
Aphrodite (who does not use her surname, Johnson, professionally) has been painting in the islands for six years and had has several exhibitions on St. Thomas, but this will be her first opening on St. John.
"I love the vibrancy of colors here and enjoy incorporating them into my work," she says.
