TEEN SUFFERS GUNSHOT WOUND AT FESTIVAL VILLAGE

A teenage male was shot outside the Festival village early Sunday morning, according to V.I. police officials.
Soon after the village closed at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday, a 16-year-old was shot and wounded in the lower leg, police said. Officers responding to the area of the gunshots witnessed two suspects fleeing the D.C. Canegata Ballpark toward Gallows Bay but did not find a victim. Police were unable to identify the assailants because of poor lighting.
About a half hour after the shots were fired, police received a call from the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital about the gunshot victim. The minor was unable to identify the shooters, police said.
Anyone with information is urged to call the police at 778-2211 or 911.
