FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETINGS POSTPONED

Senate Finance Committee meetings scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday were postponed to Thursday and Friday.
Tuesday's meeting was held up to allow Finance Commissioner Bernice Turnbull and Ira Mills, director of the Office of Management and Budget, to complete financial analyses. On Wednesday, Committee Chairwoman Lorraine Berry must appear in Territorial Court for a hearing on Sen. George Goodwin's lawsuit against the Board of Elections, Berry's office announced.
Goodwin has disputed the absentee ballot count, and requested the Board of Elections to toss out all absentee ballots and abide by the Nov. 7 election results which placed Goodwin in the seventh seat, and Berry out of the running. With the absentee ballots, Berry displaces Goodwin.
A hearing is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday before Territorial Court Judge Ishmael Meyers.
