FREE PARENTING CLASSES START SEPT. 5

The Women's Coalition will offer a parenting skills program on Tuesdays beginning Sept 5. The free classes will be held twice each Tuesday, from 4-6 p.m. or 6-8 p.m., and will run for 16 weeks, including 13 scheduled group sessions and an "exit interview."
According to coalition co-director Clema Lewis, the interview helps instructors determine whether parents are ready to move on. "Some of the parents are asked to repeat the course if we feel they are not ready or have missed a lot of the sessions," she said.
"This program is for males and females, young and old," Lewis said, and deals with children from birth to age 17. The coalition has been offering the program for five years.
Classes will be held at No. 7 East Street in Christiansted. For more information or to register call 773-9272.
