JAMES, 3 AIDES OFF TO P.R. LT. GOVERNORS' MEETING

Lt. Gov. Gerard Luz James II, his wife and three of his staff members will be In Puerto Rico this week attending a meeting of the National Conference of Lieutenant Governors.
The group leaves Tuesday for the meeting at the Hyatt Dorado Beach Hotel and is scheduled to return Sunday.
This year's topic is "The Internationalization of States and Territories," with emphasis on international trade, academic exchange and technical cooperation.
James is taking with him a video on the Virgin Islands designed to bolster the territory's chances of being picked as the site of the annual conference for 2002, according to his spokesman, Jerain Fleming. Next year's site is already determined.
St. Thomas hosted the annual gathering for the first time while Derek Hodge was lieutenant governor of the Virgin Islands in the Farrelly administration.
The video includes footage of James and is designed specifically for the conference, Fleming said. "We worked with Tourism on it," he said.
About 150 to 200 people are expected to attend this year's conference, she said. Along with James and his wife, his aides Nathan Simmonds, chief of staff; Gary Molloy, executive assistant; and Fleming will be among them.
Fleming said she did not have information on the cost of the trip.
Among topics to be addressed, she said, are the types of business environments sought by today's e-companies. For more information about the organization, click on www.nclg.org.
