There'll be mellow and melodious live jazz in Palm Plaza Friday night as the Sax Cymbals makes its first appearance of the year at Club Ryno, beginning at 7 p.m.
"We're looking forward to returning to Palm Passage, a great setting for our kind of music," trio leader Rusty Vellek says.
At least to start, the trio — which sometimes has four or five members — will comprise just three for this gig: Vellek on sax, Rhett Simmonds on bass and Dean Prince on percussion. "But we've also invited some friends to sit in," Vellek says, "so expect a few surprises!"
Happy hour at Club Ryno, with 2-for-1 drink prices, runs from 4 to 9 p.m. There's a full dinner menu.
