The year 2000 literally exploded into being on the East End of St. Thomas.
Virgin Islanders lucky enough to be in the Pillsbury Sound area were treated to some six different fireworks displays, which kept watchers busy pivoting from point to point.
A relatively clear night blessed the beginning of the year and all fireworks viewers with the opportunity to catch displays from Smith Bay, Jost VanDyke, Caneel Bay, Cruz Bay, Little Cruz Bay, and Great Bay. Never before have Virgin Islanders and their guests been exposed to such a multitude of star bursts, patterns, aerial bursts, rockets, rooster tails, squiggles, flares, and blasts.
