NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION SEMINAR SCHEDULED

The V.I. Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) will hold a seminar on nonpoint source pollution control at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20 at UVI's St. Thomas campus. The seminar will be simulcast to UVI's St. Croix campus.
The free seminar will provide practical information on ways to control construction discharges that can damage the environment. Environmentalists, homeowners, home buyers, architects, people in the construction trades and other members of the community are encouraged to attend.
Dr. Richard Nemeth, a research professor with UVI's Eastern Caribbean Center, and local engineer Bill McComb will make presentations on the recent successful application of best management practices (BMPs) at a construction site in West Caret Bay .
The seminar will take place in the Teacher Education building, Room 101, on
St. Thomas.
In St. Croix the seminar will take place in Room 713 of the Melvin Evans Center. For further information call the WRRI at 693-1076 or the Eastern Caribbean Center at 693-1020.
