TWO V.I. GROUPS GET HIV PLANNING GRANTS

Delegate Donna M. Christian-Christensen has congratulated the V.I. Health Department and the Interfaith Coalition of St. Croix, which will receive $50,000 each from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration to help planning efforts for HIV care services.
This HRSA program is funded by Ryan White Title III HIV Planning Grants. It supports communities and health-care service entities in their planning efforts to develop a high quality and broad scope of primary care services for people in those service areas with HIV; and outreach, counseling and testing for people at risk for HIV infection.
The program supports planning activities only. It does not fund any service delivery or patient care.
The Ryan White Title III HIV Planning Grants target persons in rural/underserved populations and African American populations living with HIV.
