A Ford Explorer carjacked last Thursday was found on St. Croixs east end over the weekend.
According to police officials, a Williams Delight woman was driving from a friends home in Campo Rico early Thursday morning when the carjacking occurred. The Explorer was found Sunday abandoned at Grassy Point, on the islands sparsely inhabited southeast shore.
According to police, an unidentified man opened the car door and jumped in as the woman slowed down for a speed bump. She was pushed aside and forced down to the floorboard, police said, while two more men got into the SUV.
The woman was released unhurt. However, an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
Police reported the incident as a stolen vehicle and listed it as a kidnap for robbery. The investigation continues.
