TRAFFIC REGULATIONS FOR SINBAD CONCERTS

The streets directly adjacent to the Lionel Roberts Stadium will be closed on the days of the Sinbad Soul Music Festival concerts. And there will be no parking on the streets surrounding the stadium.
Beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only taxis and shuttle vehicles will be allowed to access Hospital Gade, alongside Roosevelt Park beginning at the Norre Gade corner at Zora's to Hospital Line, next to the J. Antonio Jarvis school, where they will discharge their passengers.
On the Polyberg Hill side all traffic will be directed to turn left onto Bjerge Gade at the bottom of the hill. Taxis and shuttle buses will discharge their passengers at the corner of Polyberg Road and Bjerge Gade. Seventh Day Street will be closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles. Vehicles accessing Kongens Gade, known as Education Street, will have to turn left at Kongens Tro Gade, known as White House Street, which will take them back to Norre Gade for exiting the area. Vehicles will not be able to access Hospital Gade from Kongens Gade.
The direction of traffic on Bunker Hill will be altered on Friday, May 28, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.. The traffic will continue to flow south (downhill) on that day only, rather than the usual uphill direction, in the after-work hours.
No parking will be allowed on the streets in the area of the stadium. Therefore, there will be no parking on Norre Gade, Kongens Gade, Dronningens Gade, Prindsens Gade, Bjerge Gade, or Bunker Hill. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the expense of the owners. "We will strictly enforce the no-parking restriction, since we must be able to maintain an easy flow of traffic for the taxis and shuttles transporting people accessing the concert site," said Police Chief Jose Garcia.
Satellite parking will be available at the Fort Christian parking lot, Emile Griffith ball park, the parking area across the street form the sea plane shuttle, the Roy L. Schneider Hospital parking lot and the Reichhold Center parking lot. The general public is urged to use the satellite parking areas. Free shuttle buses will be made available from each of the satellite parking areas. Shuttle buses will be available from the Coast Guard Station on the waterfront as well.
The Tourism Department is making available transportation coupons which will be honored by taxi operators. Visitors will be able to purchase these coupons for $4 each. People staying in the area from Emerald Beach to Marriott Frenchman's Reef Hotels will use one coupon each way to and from the concert site. Visitors staying at the hotels further to the east will use two coupons in each direction for taxi travel to and from the concert.
"We have worked very diligently with the Police Department, specifically acting Commissioner Franz Christian, Chief Garcia, and Captains Lettsome and Molyneaux, to devise a plan which will only be effective if we have the full cooperation of the public," said Clement "Cain" Magras, acting Tourism Commissioner. "We ask that everyone follow the rules set forth by the Police Department so easy flow will be maintained."
