PROPERTY TAX FORUM TO BE HELD

A public forum on property tax issues will be held on Tuesday, April 13, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on St. Thomas.
The announcement was made by Lt. Governor Gerard Luz James II, who heads the Office of the Tax Assessor. That office is responsible for assessing all real property in the territory. Tax bills are issued in mid-May and become due June 30.
The forums were initiated to answer questions from the public about homestead exemptions and how property values are determined and collected.
