RUTH WATSON NAMED MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Thelma Ruth Watson has been named medical director of the Roy L. Schneider Hospital.
Watson will officially assume the position Feb. 22. In the meantime, Dr. Boniface Abba, who resigned as medical director at the end of December, is handling the responsibilities.
Watson’s job will be to recruit new specialists, prepare the staff for
accreditation and improve emergency services.
Watson was assistant Health commissioner under the Schneider administration, but resigned abruptly last March. She never explained why she quit with no notice, other than to cite personal needs.
Watson is the sister of Barbara Schneider, wife of former Gov. Roy L. Schneider.
