In honor of the 89th anniversary of scouting in the United States and the 69th anniversary in the Virgin Islands, Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has proclaimed the week of Feb. 7 – 14 Boy Scout Anniversary Week.
Turnbull praised all of the community organizations that have been chartered in the Virgin Islands by the Boy Scouts of America to use the Scouting program.
"I extend sincere appreciation to our community organizations that use the scouting program and their volunteer leaders who assist in community efforts," Turnbull said.
He said the volunteers are performing an outstanding service to the community and urged residents to join in honoring the people and organizations that support scouting in the Virgin Islands.
